Focus sessions, Focus mode and parking

Focus mode

Focus mode closes the categories you find distracting and saves every tab, so you can work without them. Turn it off and they reopen exactly as they were.

By default Focus mode parks Social. To choose which categories it parks, edit a category and switch on Park in Focus mode.

You can turn Focus mode on and off on Home, or with the shortcut Alt+Shift+F (Option+Shift+F on a Mac).

Focus sessions

A focus session is Focus mode with a timer. On Home, pick 25, 50 or 90 minutes and click Start. Your distracting categories park, your pet keeps watch, and when the time is up everything comes back and your pet earns a treat. Click End early to stop sooner.

To focus on one task, click the target next to it in Tasks. The session shows the task's name while it runs.

If you open a parked site during a session and your pet is on your pages, it reminds you how long is left.

Parking a category

Parking closes every tab in a category and saves their addresses. Hover a category and click the park button. A parked category shows Parked and how many tabs it holds; click Restore to reopen them.

Pinned tabs are never parked. If you keep a site pinned, it stays open.

Smart parking (Pro)

Smart parking parks categories you haven't used for a while, so Chrome stays fast and tidy. Turn it on in Settings and choose how long to wait: 30 minutes, 1 hour or 3 hours.

Muting a category

Hover a category and click the speaker to silence every tab in it. TabHue remembers which categories you muted.
