The TabHue extension
TabHue works inside your browser. To sort your tabs it reads their web addresses and titles, and to show your time it records how long you spend in each category. All of this is stored in your browser's own storage and never sent to us.
The extension contains no analytics, tracking or advertising code. Time totals are kept for 90 days and then deleted. Uninstalling TabHue removes everything it stored.
What leaves your browser
- Your license key, if you use Pro. It is sent to Lemon Squeezy, our payment partner, to activate and check your license. Lemon Squeezy returns your name and email from your purchase, which TabHue shows in Settings.
- Your categories and rules, if you turn on sync. They are saved through Chrome's sync in your own Google account, under Google's privacy policy. We cannot see them.
Website access
TabHue only asks for access to websites if you turn on dimming. It uses that access solely to show the sites you chose in greyscale. It reads the page's address, never its content.
This website
- Uninstall survey. Answers are anonymous: we store the reason you chose, your optional comment and the TabHue version, and nothing that identifies you.
- Waitlists. If you join one, we store your email address only to tell you when that feature launches. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
- Cookies. The site uses a session cookie that protects forms from abuse. No advertising cookies.
- Visitor statistics. The website uses Google Analytics to see how the website is doing: how many visits it gets and which pages are read. We look at the totals, not at you, and don't use it for advertising. It only starts if you click OK on the cookie banner, then sets its own cookies and works under Google's privacy policy. Change your mind any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. It runs only on this website, never in the extension.
- Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure.
Messages to us
If you write to us from the contact page, we keep your message, the TabHue version and browser it was sent from, and your email address if you give one, only to answer you. Ask us and we delete it.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and processes your payment and tax details under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. Lemon Squeezy tells our website when a purchase, renewal, cancellation or refund happens, so we know how many people use Pro; we keep only the plan, its status, the amount and Lemon Squeezy's reference numbers, not your name or email.
Your choices
You can uninstall TabHue at any time, turn sync off in Settings, remove website access from chrome://extensions, and ask us to delete your waitlist email.
Children
TabHue is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Significant changes will be mentioned in the changelog.
