TabHue 1.3: a calmer way to live with too many tabs
TabHue 1.3 brings a new design, one-click tab moves, a daily view of where your time goes, and a Focus mode that leaves your pinned tabs alone.
Most of us don't have a tab problem because we're disorganized. We have one because the web is where our work, our reading and our distractions all live, side by side, in a strip of identical little rectangles.
TabHue started as a simple idea: give every tab a colour that tells you what it's for. Version 1.3 is the biggest step since then.
A new, calmer design
The popup has been rebuilt from the ground up. It's more compact, so you can see eight categories without scrolling, and it comes in light, dark and system themes. Every category shows its open tabs and today's time in one tidy row; hover it to mute, park or edit.
Move any tab in one click
The top of the popup now shows the tab you're on and its category. Click the category, pick another, and you're done. TabHue remembers your choice, even after you restart Chrome.
See where your time goes
The new Today bar shows how your browsing time splits across categories. It only counts while you're actually browsing, and pauses when you step away or switch apps, so the numbers mean something.
Focus mode, done right
Focus mode parks the categories you find distracting and brings them back, exactly as they were, when you're done. As of 1.3.2 it also leaves pinned tabs alone, and TabHue never touches tab groups you made yourself.
Small things that add up
- A duplicate finder that closes extra copies of the same page, with Undo.
- Collapse other groups to clear the tab strip in one click.
- Keyboard shortcuts for the things you do most.
- ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and other popular sites now sort themselves.
Private, as always
Everything TabHue knows about your browsing stays in your browser. There's no account and no tracking. Website access is only requested if you choose to turn on dimming.
If you already use TabHue, the update arrives automatically. If not, it's free to try.
